Due to the excessive heat — 41C today — and the fact that the zoned air-conditioning that’s supposed to keep the computer room cool is not working, we may need to shut down operations completely for a few hours. Since my (David’s) computer room is right under the roof, it gets a high heat load from the sun.
However, to ameliorate the problem, I’ve turned off all non-essential equipment to reduce the heat load. I’ve also had a crawl under the house and made some manual adjustments to the equipment that’s supposed to operate autonomously. That has also helped by providing at least some cooling airflow to the computer room. I’ve also called the company that does our HVAC and expect them to be here tomorrow morning.
Should things get worse, it may be necessary to shut down entirely until the root cause of this problem can be repaired.
Thanks for your understanding if that turns out to be the case. We’ll get back up and running as soon as possible.
